We are one of the few companies in the United States who make glass baskets where the bottom is shaped, and the handle is put on the basket by a skilled glass worker called the handler. Each of our basket handlers has his own individual mark, a geometric mark of some kind that's at the base of the handle. That mark both gives a good juncture between the handle and the basket. It also provides some way to identify the specific person who put the handle on the basket. Basket handling takes quite sometime to learn among the glass workers, and it is one of our top skills in the glass making area.
q: So it's probably not a cheap piece, because it's hard to make?
They are difficult to make. We do have some small baskets, which are actually harder to make than the larger ones. The small baskets range between $40-$50 to $60-$50 depending on the color. Other baskets are likely to be $65 and up, depending on how elaborate they are.
