A fiberglass swimming pool is the swimming pool that goes in ground. It is a prefabricated shell. It is manufactured and it is hauled out. Then, it is installed with a crane. The drawbacks of fiberglass are they come with a resin. I am sure they last for years. The drawback to that it is if you drain the pool and you don't have a hydrostat in the main drain of the pool, there is groundwater underneath the pool and the groundwater pressures up. The ground water and the ground pressure can actually lift the pool above the ground and pick the deck with it. I have seen this happen to concrete pools too. But the other thing with fiberglass pools is once the resin wears off the pool itself fiberglass exposes its hair. Fiberglass is nothing but a bunch of fine stranded hairs of fiberglass, and if you get one of those in your toe, good luck trying to find it and get it out.
