If you frequently use your printer for work or school, you know that it is very easy to go through large amounts of black ink cartridges. A more simple and affordable solution is to refill the ink rather than purchase a whole new cartridge. This also helps the environment by recycling the plastic cartridges for several more uses. In just a few steps, you will easily be able to refill and reuse your HP black ink cartridges.
Refilling your HP black ink cartridge is a cheap and easy alternative to purchasing a new one.

Step 1
Remove the empty ink cartridge from your HP printer. Using the toilet paper, gently wipe the cartridge head in a vertical direction to completely remove excessive clogged ink. -
Step 2
Cut a small amount of adhesive tape and apply it to the cartridge head. Make sure the tape is on airtight. -
Step 3
Peel the sticker on the top of your cartridge until you see a hole. Check the maximum capacity of ink that your cartridge will hold. -
Step 4
Using the syringe, carefully inject the black ink into the cartridge hole, taking care to not go over the maximum capacity limit. -
Step 5
Tightly reseal the sticker over the hole. Remove the tape over the cartridge head. -
Step 6
With a piece of toilet paper, gently wipe the cartridge head again in a vertical direction and remove any excess ink. -
Step 7
Insert the ink cartridge back into your printer.

- Syringe
- Tip: Make sure to completely wipe the cartridge head until all excess ink is removed. If this area is not thoroughly wiped, it can lead to a blocked nozzle.
- Tip: Leave your cartridge on top of a paper towel for about an hour before reinserting it into the printer. This will ensure that you catch any leaks or drips from the cartridge.
