What Does A Fire Safety Consultant/Educator Do?

What does a fire safety consultant/educator do? Fire safety educators talk to different groups, community organizations, schools, and kindergarten classes. We advise them and talk to them about fire safety.

My job is to go out and talk to different groups, community organizations, schools, and kindergarten classes. I advise them and talk to them about fire safety. I like to put it this way: I talk to them about life safety. I could be talking to children's groups, telling them how not to play with matches and how to have an exit strategy out of their home, how to crawl low under smoke, how to stop, drop and roll and all of those safety measures. Then the next ten minutes I could be talking to a senior citizens' group where you are talking about slips and falls, installing night lights in your house so that you would be able to see, and putting non-slip rugs in their bathrooms so that they won't fall. It is a big gamut. You could be talking to the mayor about certain things. Our job is a "catchall" job.
