Five Cities Famous For Their Nightlife

The US has some of the hottest ciites worlwide when it comes to nightlife. Five of the hottest and hippest cities to enjoy after dark are New York, LA, Chicago, Miami, and Vegas.

1. New York City

New York, New York is still regarded as the world's premier nightlife destination. There's just something magical about New York City nightlife that nowhere else in the world has yet to rival. From chic clubs to trendy bar openings, from laser raves to live shows, you can find it all in NYC. If you are in the mood for a happening dance club, you should head to Chaos, located on 225 East Houston Street (at Essex Street) - they have a great mix of music every night, and the style is always changing - sometimes Caribbean, sometimes hip-hop, sometimes house. If you'd prefer a mellower jazzy scene, then you should head over to the Blue Note, NYC's premier jazz club since 1981. It's always packed, but the seating is comfortable around the stage - try to get there at least an hour prior to show time if you want a good view of the musicians. New York is also known for its top-notch comedy clubs. Caroline's on Broadway is world-renowned; some of the biggest names in comedy have appeared here, and the performers often heckle and interact with the crowd, which will make the memory of your visit even more lasting. Before you head out to NYC, decide on a few of the places that you want to go to - NYC has so much to offer that it can be overwhelming for unprepared tourists.

2. Miami

Miami, Florida has a booming nightlife scene that tourists and locals rave about. If you love Latin dancing and music, there's no better place to find it than in Miami. Club Tropigala, located in Miami Beach at 4441 Collins Avenue, features Las Vegas-esque musical reviews with a Latin theme. If you are a guest at the hotel, you can actually go to any of the live performances for free. This is not a low-scale nightspot; they've got two live orchestras and a floor show. If you want a slightly wilder Miami scene, look no further than Club Deep, which opened in 1997. This is a truly one-of-a-kind clubbing experience - the dance floor is actually transparent and set over a two-thousand gallon aquarium - you'll be dancing on water! Club Deep generally attracts a younger, rowdier crowd of party-people who love to let loose and dance the night away.

3. Las Vegas

Las Vegas nightlife is so wild and crazy that the city has adopted the phrase "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" as a tourist promo slogan. There are so many hotspots in this city, but the best clubs are the ones within Las Vegas hotels. The Palms Resort & Casino has several clubs within, including the Ghostbar. The Palms has been hot since the day its doors opened, but it was made even hotter after the cast of MTV's Real World season twelve lived in one of their swankiest suites in 2002. Ghostbar, which is on the 55th floor of the Palms, is an indoor/outdoor club with a very sleek and stylish ethereal-like design scheme. The view of the city from the open-air patio is breathtaking. Other great Las Vegas clubs that are within hotels are Club Rio in the Rio Suites Hotel Casino, View in Harrah's Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, and Tabu in MGM Grand.

4. Chicago

Chicago is increasing in their nightlife popularity by the year and one of there most famous nightlife activities is called pub clubbing. Chicago's nightlife scene is more about camaraderie and relaxation than table-dancing and spring break-style wildness, but it's a great change of pace and they have plenty to offer. Lots of Chicago pubs are actually open until 5 a.m., and believe it or not, the popular pubs are crowded until closing time. The Box Office Brewery is an old movie theatre that was converted into a brewpub and restaurant, and they feature live bands most weeks (the musical genres vary). It's a classic pub-clubbing hotspot.

5. Los Angeles

Los Angeles is known as the entertainment capital of the world, so you better believe LA has a phenomenal nightlife scene that few other cities can rival. El Centro is one of the hottest, hippest nightclubs in LA, and despite its somewhat slummy neighborhood, the interior of this place is decked out in mahogany and bricks, and they attract a celebrity clientele to boot. Another one of the premiere nightlife spots in LA is Carbon, located on Venice Boulevard, which attracts a hip young crowd of dance-fevered partiers. If you want to go club hopping in LA, cruise the Sunset Strip for an array of nightclub choices.
