Folding mountain bikes are actually a little less common. There are few companies that make them. They are good for somebody who travels, who may be into mountain biking as a little more recreation. Generally, they are a little heavier and have to be a little more overbuilt which is the folding part of it. But, what they are a good for somebody who has limited space. If you are going to be camping, have an RV or professional pilots who may store it somewhere on a smaller plane and things like that. They have some short-term transportation, but basically what they are designed for is to save a little bit of space. Usually the functionality of the bike is not quite as good as a standard bike because most of the models that I have seen, they don't make as many sizes. It doesn't mean that they are bad or that you do not fit on one, but certainly make sure that you take your time. If you can buy a regular bike you are going to pay the same price and get more bike or you will be able to pay less for a bike that's just a higher quality.
