Easy general purpose tarot card spreads for beginners and experienced readers. These are original spreads developed by a professional Tarot reader, and teacher.
A Tarot spread is a specific pattern in which a Tarot reader deals the cards. Each card in a spread tells a specific point of the situation, or answers a specific question. Here you will learn four simple Tarot spreads to get you started, or add to your library of spreads. These are all original spreads, written for general situations.
Before you begin using Tarot spreads, it is important for you to understand your cards. Learn what each card represents, and keep this in the back of your mind. However, Tarot reading is a thing of the moment, and a card may not have the same meaning each time it appears for you.
The first spread is called the "Brief Direction Spread." It consists of Four cards dealt left to right. It shows the direction a situation may take.
1. How does the past affect the current situation?
2. What are the current influences to the situation?
3. What will affect the situation in the future?
4. What can I do to make a positive change to the situation?
The second spread is dealt in the form of a pyramid. The first card is the top. The next three cards are dealt left to right beneath the first. The next four cards are dealt left to right beneath these. The name of this spread is "The Point." It was designed to get to the source of a situation or problem so that a solution can be found. Do remember that the Tarot cannot give you a solution, you must find your own solutions.
1. The Situation.
2. What past events influence the current situation?
3. What should I learn from the current situation?
4. What obstacles am I currently facing connected to the situation?
5. How should I meet these obstacles?
6. What current circumstances influence the situation?
7. What will give me strength or aid in this situation?
8. What future events will influence the situation?
9. Summary of the reading.
The next spread is the "Spirit Guide" spread. It consists of six cards dealt in two rows of three cards. Once again this is a left to right spread. This spread was designed to give spiritual guidance. If you feel you are guided by a particular spirit, then this spread can be used to directly ask this spirit for guidance. If you feel you are guided by the universal consciousness or God through Tarot, this can also be used for direct guidance.
1. What should I be learning?
2. Where do I find inspiration?
3. What areas are keeping me from progress?
4. What will bring balance to my life?
5. What opinions do I need to re-examine?
6. What direction is my life taking?
The last spread in this short series is "The Decision." It is dealt in two rows, top to bottom. The first row is to the left. Both rows consist of three cards.
1. The problem or dilemma.
2. The first option.
3. The second option.
4. What is possible if option one is chosen?
5. What is possible if option two is chosen?
6. What is the likely outcome to the situation?
Use these four spreads to answer questions or get a direction in life for yourself or others who consult you and your Tarot deck. However, always be responsible while reading for yourself or others. Remember that all situations can be turned in different directions. We have free will to make our own decisions. No Tarot reading is a concrete solution, or prediction. We change our futures through our actions.
