Fun things for couples to do in columbus

Great date ideas for couples looking for entertainment and romantic things to do in Columbus.

Are you and your sweetie bored in Columbus? Are you tired of the same old dates weekend after weekend? Fear not! Ohio's cap city has many fun and unique activities for couples. From the art-lover to the thrill seeker, Columbus has much to offer couples whether it's your first date or your fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Observe the work of artistic masters at the Columbus Museum of Art. With their extensive collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth century modern art, the Columbus Museum of art is a perfect way to spend and afternoon. See the works of Picasso, Monet, Matisse, Renoir, as well as pieces by famed regional artists. For couples on a budget, go to the museum on Sundays when admission is free.

For those that would rather create art than view it, check out Color Your World at Easton Town Center. At this art studio, you can pick from numerous unglazed pottery pieces, such as cups, bowls, platters, and vases and then unleash you inner artist. Use their large assortment of glazes to personalize your piece and then they fire it for you. This is an ideal first date location, as the fun activity will take your mind off first-date jitters. The Easton Town Center also has many restaurants for a post-pottery bite to eat.

For outdoor types, why not take a hike? Columbus metro parks offer year-round free access to its many parks around the city. See where an ancient glacier's path once was at Glacier Ridge Metro Parks, or experience the lovely flora and fauna at the Inniswood Metro Garden. Bring your bike, pack a picnic lunch, and enjoy a wonderful day taking in all of nature's splendor with your significant other.

If all you have the energy for is dinner, then cozy up with your beau at The Melting Pot. This fondue favorite is a fun (not to mention delicious) way to dine. Your server will prepare your fondue pot with scrumptious cheeses for your first course, and a variety of crudités to dip in the cheeses. The main course is your choice of meats and seafoods as well as potatoes and vegetables to be dipped in a variety of unique sauces. And finally there's the dessert fondue, which is excellent. Melted chocolates and your choice of liqueurs and nuts come together in a delicious mixture, in which you dip strawberries, pineapple, and pieces of pound cake. A romantic treat for sure.

Of course, there's always the quintessential dinner and a movie date. At the Arena Grand Theatre, you can do both at once! You can see the latest movies and eat dinner at the same time. And it's not your average popcorn and candy (although they have these as well), either. The café has gourmet pizzas, wraps, quesadillas, and indulgent desserts. Also, they offer a wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails for a full service meal. If you're not ready to call it a night after the show, then head to the nearby Frog, Bear and Wild Boar Bar. Although it sounds like a wild game preserve, the Frog Bear is really a place to relax, hear some live music and dance the night away.

What are you waiting for? Grab your honey and get out and experience Columbus!
