Nashville has many wonderful hotels in the area, and you can also stay in one of the city's quaint bed and breakfast establishments. Once you've settled in, you'll be ready to start your day. You might want to begin your day with a tour of the Opryland Hotel. Of course, you can stay there if you choose, but you don't have to reserve a room to enjoy this gorgeous hotel. You can spend a day strolling hand-in-hand with your sweetie through the atrium, viewing the spectacular lights show, and visiting the various gift shops.

Once you've finished your tour of the Opryland Hotel, you will definitely want to check out the many shops, arcades, and theaters at the Opry Mills Mall. You can spend a day shopping and come away with many bargains from the mall's outlet stores. Just a few yards away is the Ryman Auditorium, where big names in music regularly schedule concerts. The Grand Ole Opry is close by, and every weekend you can be part of the world's longest running radio show. The entertainment at the Grand Ole Opry is always full of some of country music's most famous and beloved entertainers.



If you love history, you might want to check out the Country Music Hall of Fame. Here you can find out about country music's humble beginnings, through the many interactive exhibits. If you're lucky, you'll get to see some live entertainment, also. You and your partner may want to take dance lessons at the Wildhorse Saloon, and you can plan on staying for dinner, also.

There are plenty of historic homes, buildings, and museums for you to tour. Some of the mansions include the Belle Meade Mansion, Belmont Mansion, the Traveler's Rest Plantation and Museum, or you could take a self-driven tour along the Tennessee Antebellum Trail. The trail covers approximately ninety miles and gives visitors an opportunity to view more than fifty plantations and battle sites.

Museums include the Tennessee State Museum, which offers visitors a chance to view many historical exhibits; the Lane Motor Museum, which specializes in rarer European cars from the 1940's to the 1990's; and the Agricultural Museum, which traces the farming history of Tennessee. If sports are on the agenda, be sure and visit the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame to learn about the abundance of sports history and teams from Tennessee.

The Nashville Zoo offers guests an opportunity to see a variety of animals in their natural habitats. You can also take a leisurely walk through the Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art. Nashville has two main city parks, the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park and The Parthenon. The Capitol Mall State Park offers a Wall of History and a WWII memorial for visitors to see. The Parthenon is a full-scale replica of the original Greek temple.

Finally, Nashville's nightlife isn't limited to country music. You might want to visit the famous Bluebird Café. You never know when a famous name might walk in and take part in an impromptu jam session. You can also find plenty of opportunities for musical enjoyment along the city's Music Row.
