Nature lovers have an abundance of out-of-doors options. Sabino Canyon, nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, is a desert oasis. Couples may have a difficult time settling on just what to do here: take the narrated tram ride through the scenic foothills; hike or bike one of the myriad trails to observe desert vegetation and bird species; or spread a romantic picnic lunch and splash in the sparkling water.

Gates Pass, just west of town, overlooks a lush desert valley. Energetic couples will enjoy hiking the snaking trails or mountain biking the challenging hills. Any duo will thrill over the breathtaking sunsets of pinks, purples and yellows. On the way back into town, a short drive up "A" Mountain offers a view of the city lights and another opportunity to cuddle!

For those who contemplate a little romance on the fairway, Tucson is home to over two dozen greens. Conveniently located in central Tucson, Randolph Municipal Courses offer 18 holes adjacent to the pleasant Reid Park. Randolph is renowned for hosting the annual LPGA Tournament. Just west of city in the Tucson Mountains, Starr Pass Golf Course winds through picturesque arroyos and vales, planned in such a way as to upset the surroundings as little as possible.

Couples will savor a panoramic drive up the Catalina Highway to Mount Lemmon. In the warmer seasons Mount Lemmon offers a refreshing escape from the heat and in the winter couples can ski and cavort in the snow. Cabin rentals are available for those cozy weekend getaways, too.

For the pair craving a bit of pampering, Tucson is home to scads of resorts and spas. Canyon Ranch Health Resort's luxurious spa services and superlative health packages lure celebrities and other public figures to its tranquil accommodations. Couples can pass the time with their choice of copious indoor and outdoor fitness classes, ranging from kickboxing to Wallyball; numerous spiritual awareness classes such as Tai Chi and walking meditation; health services like hands-on healthy cooking classes and acupuncture; and spa treatments including hydro massage and body facials. The lavish lodging and relaxing surroundings allow an amorous pair to forget about the real world for a while and strengthen their bond.

The Tucson nightlife scene leaves nothing to be desired. Couples feeling funky might want to bust out the go-go boots and head for The Shelter. This hip, happening lounge is the perfect place to sip martinis and enjoy thematic entertainment. For duos who prefer club-hopping, Fourth Avenue hosts non-stop action nightly at college favorites like The Shanty, Guido's, and Maloney's. And for those who like their cocktails with a twist of humor, Laff's Comedy Club showcases comedians from across the country.
