Advice for cheating and finding shortcuts on the Paper Mario Gamecube game.
Badge Shop:
In the badge shop, you can buy items and also sell badges for lots of cash. It is located upstairs at the Inn in Rogueport where you sleep. There should be a door in the left side of the room. If the door is not there, go to the Trouble Center and select "lost key" trouble. The person standing next to the house will tell you his key is near the badge shop and then the door will appear in your room at the Inn. Go through the door and out onto the roof. Keep going left and there will be the door to the badge shop. The special deals will be out on the counter, but you can also talk to the mouse on the right to purchase other items.
Combat Tips:
The easiest way to defeat Hooktail is to get the sound FX R badge. It makes all of Mario's attacks sound like crickets and cause more damage because Hooktail is afraid of them. To get the badge, get the curse that allows Mario to turn sideways and squeeze through bars.
Fire Flowers can be used to burn multiple Fuzzies.
Let Koops go ahead of Mario when battling Spinias and their attacks will not hurt.
Miscellaneous Tips:
To get half your stolen coins back, go into the back of mid Rogueport. There will be a door with a bandit inside of it. Talk to him and he will give you your coins.
You can wear the costume of Wario, Luigi, or Waluigi. To get Wario, you must find the man with the mustache in Rogueport Square and he will sell you the W emblem for 360 gold. To get Luigi, go to the place where you got the 6th crystal star and spring jump using the poles until you find it.
You can get Ms. Mowz by completing the "???" problem at the Trouble Center. Find the secret badge hidden in Hooktail's castle and return it to the mouse on top of Zess T's shop.
Paper Airplane mode:
Go to the ruins of the city below Rogueport and you should see a block with a key on top. The block is too high to jump, so keep going to the right until you see the blue I switch. Flip the switch and the wallpaper will peel off, revealing hidden stairs. Walk up the stairs, then walk off the side toward the back of the screen and you will get the black key. Then go back upstairs and through the door. Talk to the chest and you will get paper airplane mode.
To fly the paper airplane, move the joystick left and right, not up and down. Moving it left tips the point of your plane up and right tips it down.
Blimp Ticket:
To get your blimp ticket from Don Pianta's office without paying all your coins, go to the item shop on the west side of Rogueport. Make sure it is the shop with the Boo in it or this will not work. Buy a dried shroom for two coins and then a dizzy dial for twelve coins. After that, the Boo will ask what color your mustache is. Answer "yellow" and then she will say she asked the wrong question and ask what your favorite color is. Answer "yellow" again and she will let you go through the door and upstairs to Don Pianta's office.
