I think the biggest thing that the senior population has to worry about the most is losing muscle mass because that is a natural part of aging. It happens naturally and you need work on activities to maintain your muscles. If you can build more muscle that is great, but at least maintain the muscle mass you have. That is going to help you keep your balance, keeping you from falling down and breaking bones. The second thing is flexibility training. As we age our tissues do not retain as much water as they used to and that translates to being less flexible. So those are the two things I would look at for the older population.
