I make the tiles in molds and then I decorate. I usually do tile murals for people, so I gather the amount of tiles it will take to do the project. Then, I paint. I glaze each tile individually with a white lead-based glaze and then I paint each tile with a colored glaze and the technique I use is "Majaloca."

It is a very old Italian technique. It was used in Italy in the 16th century. A lot of Mediterranean ceramics are decorated in it.

It will take me less than two days to do one mural, putting down each layer of colored glazes at a time. I pencil the design out first in pencil on the tiles. The pencil line will burn away in the camouflaging process, and then I put the colors down from there.
