We have a product called VersaLock, which are engineered hardwood floors. The VersaLock snap system can be installed by a homeowner. Anybody who knows enough about it can cut the wood in the right length and follow the directions. This is what we call a floating floor because it has a vapor barrier underneath it and the floor is snapped together. You have to measure it of course, you have to shuffle your wood and make it look right because no piece of wood is exactly the same. With the tones and the variation in color it's not going to be a solid floor. The person has to note if they need 5-7 boxes of the wood, they need to take it out and lay it out on the floor, shuffle it around and do some preliminary work before they actually start to install it. With technology and nail guns and that kind of thing today some people could even go as far as installing their own hardwood floors themselves. But, the VersaLock floor can actually be taken apart and put back together. It involves no glue, so an average handyman could install their floor.
