HDTV ready-set means that it is ready to receive a signal from an outside source being a cable box, a satellite box, or a stand alone HD tuner. It has the capability of playing a High Definition signal, but does not have the capability of basically switching that signal into HD. Something else has to switch the signal.
Q: Does my cable satellite provider offer High Definition Television?
They should. Not all, but most.
Q: If they don't offer High Definition Television, what are my options?
If you don't, you need to switch providers. Like, for example, in my location there are three cable companies. Two of them carry high definition programming, and one of them does not. So that cable company, the people in that area are either going to wait for them to pick up High Definition programming or switch to a satellite provider.
