A brief article with suggestions for creating a cheap home gym for fitness.
Before starting to purchase equipment, take some time to set some goals. You need to figure out if you are more interested in aerobics, weightlifting or both. Do not buy any piece of equipment that you know you do not like. If you do not like it at a gym, you will not like at home. When doing cardiovascular workouts, do you want to perform aerobics, step or use a piece of equipment? These are just a few of the questions you may want to ask yourself.
For cardiovascular workouts, you can use a machine and/or workout videos. When selecting a piece of equipment, be sure to give it a good workout in the store. A decent bike or treadmill can be purchased without spending a fortune. Look for warranties, ease of assembly and range of motion when deciding on what to buy. If you wish to use step aerobics, buy a good quality, full size step. They have risers to adjust the height and workout and can double as a weight bench, thus saving money. Mini-trampolines should be included as cardio equipment as are fun for the whole family. Even a jump rope is an effective workout.
Resistance bands, medicine balls and stability balls are all great options for effective workouts at an affordable price. Look for packages that contain posters with the various workout options for that piece. They should list the exercises that can be performed, options to make moves easier and suggested routines for weight loss. This type of equipment is also very portable and takes up little room to store.
Other tips for keeping expenses down are buying used equipment. Bring along an educated friend if you are not sure what to look for or buy from a store willing to place a guarantee on the equipment. If there is an updated model being released, you can get a good deal on the current model.
