Herbal Skin Care Products

Natural or herbal skin care products usually cost much less than their chemical laden counterparts and can be more effective for sensitive skin.

These days, you can find an herbal alternative for almost any cosmetic product. There are moisturizers, bath and shower gels, even makeup that is derived directly from plants, and can be gentler on your skin. Whether you're looking formoisturizers for your face and body, clarifiers or toners for your skin, or even a new scent to wear, you can find it in an herbal skin care product.

Most spas and salons are using more natual products in order to clean and shrink the pores in the face; and you can find some of these products at a drug store near you. Seaweed or kelp masks help to tighten the pores and balance the face's oil production. Masks or cleansers containing avocado, glycolic acid (which can be found in lemons) and tea tree oil can remove bacteria and dead skin cells from the face and body, and give the skin a healthy glow. To achieve this look at home, tea tree oil and witch hazel is recommended. Mix 1 part tea tree oil with 10 parts witch hazel, and use after cleansing the face with a gentle cleanser as a toner. General Nutrition Center's (GNC) Tea tree oil is among the most affordable and easy to find. Floraleads Calendula face wash is also recommended to refresh the face and maintain moisture.

To moisturize and exfoliate the body, herbal oils can make the skin softer and healthier, and most herbal body oils have a very pleasant scent. Herbal oils have also been proven to induce relaxation and reduce stress.

Floraleads Sage bath oil is a calming combination of sage, ylang ylang oils, vitamin E and grapeseed oils. Sage bath oil can be added to bathwater, or used after a bath or shower in place of lotion; the oil can also be used in a foot bath or pedicure, as it works well in exfoliating the feet.

Eucalyptus oil is also recommended as a bath oil. In addition to the relaxing properties of eucalyputs, the oil has also been proven to improve certain lung conditions and promote a healthy respiratory system. Many products from Bath and Body Works (the Aromatherapy line) have products that contain eucalyptus oil; The Vitamin Shoppe and GNC also have brand versions of the oil.

You can also exfoliate using herbal skin care products. While some basic exfoliation methods include olive oil and sugar or salt, you can purchase exfoliation products with natural properties for all areas of the body. Herbal Organic Natural Skin Care Products sells a Jojoba-based face exfoliator that is gentle on the skin and ideal for those with dry or sensitive skin; exfoliators with papaya or hisbiscus, like Kiss My Face Pore Thing Facial Scrub also remove dead skin cells and leave the skin thoroughly cleansed and moisturized.

These and many other products can be order online, or you can visit the stores listed above to purchase these herbal skin care products. If you are unsure whether or not a product is right for your skin, a representative should be able to assess your skin type and recommend the right herbal skin care product for you.
