This museum is located just a few minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale within the Arts and Sciences District in River Walk Park. Open: Monday-Friday 10A.M.- 5 P.M. Saturday: 10A.M.- 8:30P.M. Sunday: 12P.M-5P.M.

The 85 thousand sq. foot structure is full of hands on exhibits, a virtual playground for the mind. There are many themed areas such as Florida Eco Scapes, Kid's Science, Gizmo City, Space Base, and many others. When touring the museum, you can come face to face with live animals such as sharks, birds of prey, alligators, turtles, and bats. At the Gizmo City exhibit, you can learn how things work. Simple science and technology is used to help visitors understand such exhibits as The Construction Zone, The Factory, and Time Squared.

You will find this museum in the center of the Arts and Entertainment District in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. Large scale exhibits at the museum include: Diana; a celebration and Saint Peter and the Vatican, The Legacy of The Popes. Permanent collections at the museum consist of American and European modern and contemporary art, Picasso ceramics, and Cuban art. You will also find one of the largest collections of works by Northern European artists.
Old Fort Lauderdale Village and Museum

At this location, you will encounter many exhibits relating to the history of Fort Lauderdale. Some of Fort Lauderdale's oldest structures exist here, such as: The New River Inn, The Philomen Bryan House, and a replica of Fort Lauderdale's first school house. The historical society of Fort Lauderdale provides lectures, workshops, walking, and boat tours of the historical sites.

This museum is located in the first black high school in Fort Lauderdale. Built in 1924, this museum surveys African American struggles for equal education in South Florida.
The Stranahan House

Displays in this museum consist of early 1900 furnishings and paintings. Home of Frank and Ivy Stranahan, this building served as a trading post, post office, and town hall. The Stranahan House is considered the starting point of Fort Lauderdale history.
