Are you looking to organize you pool table and cues? Well there are several options

to choose from but here is one that is quick and easy to do. Pool table hooks.

Pool table hooks are a good way to store your cues up and out of the way. There

are two ways to mount a hook. But, beforehand you must decide what type of hook

you would like to use. The first one to be discussed is the bottom mount that hooks

up underneath the top of your pool table or cabinet. This one comes with 2 screws

that you use to affix it. The other is the side mount; this is where you place it

directly into the table or cabinet. This hook will usually have a wood screw

connected to it (this hook looks similar to a hook you would use to hang a mug).

You can find the hooks in a few different colors such as brass, silver, or black.

Searching around you may find other colors but these are the main shades. Also,

some have a "barb" or ball at the end to help keep things from falling off. The hooks

can measure from 2 - 3 inches in width.

Tools you will need to begin your project are:

measure tape

level (if side mounting)

screwdriver

drill

drill bit (tad smaller than screw)

1-1/4" size screws (if not included)

wax pencil

Directions:

1. Measure the size of your cue sticks because these can range from 36" to 57" in

length.

2. Decide where you want to place the hooks to hold the cue sticks.

a. If you want them centered- To find the center of your table measure the size of

your table (or cabinet) and divide that by 2.

b. Take the size of the cue stick and divide that by 2.

c. Then from the center of the table count out to the right half of what the cue stick

measured.

d. Go back towards the center 5"s and make a X mark. This is where the hook will

go. [I.E.: table is 8ft. =4ft. stick is 52"=26 (actually stop at 21")]

e. Now go to the left from the center the same count and make your X mark. This is

where the 2nd hook goes.

If you want them off to one side or the other-

a. Measure your cue stick.

b. Make a dot where your cue stick measures on the table at the begining and end

of the stick.

c. Measure in 5" and make your first X mark. (this is where your 1st hook will go)

d. Now count in 5" from the end dot and make your X mark. (this is the 2nd hook)

3. After you have made your marks check measurements again..(remember the

saying measure twice cut/drill once).

4. Now pre-drill your hole(s) for the first hook.....(this will keep the finish/wood from

cracking when you twist in the screws).

5. Attach the hook with screw(s)

6. Now put the cue onto the hook and hold the level under it. Does the other hook's

mark make the cue/level even? If so continue to prep and attach the last hook.

7. Repeat for each stick that you would like to hang.

NOTE: Make sure you predrilled so that you do not crack the finish/wood around

where the hole will be.
