No matter where you have a gathering of flowers, it’s a sure way to bring life and brightness to any part of your home. However, picking the right flower and the right display can prove daunting or seem too difficult. Here are a few ideas for using both fresh and silk calla lilies in you home that are not only attractive but are easy too.

Silks are probably the best way to highlight this beautiful bloom. However, there is no smell and can collect dust dulling the complexion of the petals. Real flowers can be pricey but tended properly can last for about two weeks in a container of water. Whatever you choose be aware that these design tips work for both. Just remember to anchor silks in green floral design foam or with marbles, otherwise they will tumble out and tumble about. The real flowers can also be placed in the green floral design foam to hold moisture. The marbles do not work well for the real blooms as they crimp the stems and speed up the dying process.

Wall sconces are making a splash in the design world lately and there is no end to how you can use them. You can place three or four calla lilies each in two wall sconces and place them on either side of a picture window, in the foyer or dining room. Another option would be to use the real flowers in a small bowl of water. Trim the stems about one inch below the base of the flower and float them in a bowl. This makes a stunning centerpiece for dinner. You can do the same for a large gathering. Purchase several small containers that will hold one or two flowers individually. Trim the stem on an angle and float them in the water. These can sit on individual plates or individual tables.

Calla lilies and candles create a vision of love and romance. You can purchase candle holders and wreath shaped green floral foam at craft stores. Choose candles that blend with your flowers and don’t overshadow or clash, in other words, don’t use purple callas and orange candles unless this is your thing. Also, don’t make the callas live alone. Choose other flowers that are important to you or to the occasion. Callas interspersed with peonies, mums, roses and some greenery make a stunning effect. If possible, choose a candle holder that has an area for the array of flowers to sit, otherwise, use the wreath as a frame for the candle holder.

Lastly, there is the traditional basket of flowers or vase. These two items can bring joy to any corner of the home and are sure to bring a smile to your face when you see them. As with the display for the candles, pick and choose flowers and greenery that will highlight your calla lilies. Secure your real and silk flowers in a basket with green floral foam and decorate the handle with additional garlands. Secure your silk calla lilies in the vase using marbles and real calla lilies with nothing at all.

Creating these calla lily flower arrangements can be an inexpensive way to decorate your home. Calla lilies and candles add a touch of romance. Calla lilies in a beautiful bowl can be an attractive centerpiece for your next dinner party. Having these blooms gracing any corner of your home, no matter what the design or the reason, can bring elegance and be a welcome sight throughout the year.
