You can control your golf game by following five easy steps that require putting more focus on completing your swing and your body alignment. But, that's not all. You can also control your grip on the club to ensure a better swing.

You start out right. You are in position to swing the ball out onto the fairway with the best intentions of having it land in the area that will be in direct line with the flag several feet away. You’re facing the right direction, you raise your club, and you make contact with the ball. The club cracks the ball in a beautiful arc toward your target line. However, you notice it took a rounded bend toward the sand trap. You let out an annoyed sigh as you realized that you sliced the ball again. How do you gain control over your slice and send the ball flying in the right direction?

Below are five tips to help you gain balance with precision and power, which will ultimately lead you to improve your game.

1. Spine angle-In most sports, your need to concentrate on your spine angle to support your abs, back muscles, and playing position. It works the same way in your golf game. Keep your spine angled to stay focused on your swing. To maintain your spine angle, keep your head down for the entire swing. Also, your chin should be under your shoulders while leaning over the ball. You will hit the ball more often by practicing this type of alignment.

2. Control your elbows-Have your arms work in conjunction with the swing by keeping your both of your elbows at the same distance from start to finish.

3. Keeping your putter square during your swing: The front of your putter should continue to stay square with the target line during the entire stroke. Your ball will be heading in the right direction toward the target line by keeping your putter face aligned to the target line.

4. Chips and Puts-For most chips and puts, you’re visualizing a simple pendulum motion to accomplish your swing. But, are there any other techniques that you need to remember during this shot? Yes, there are two: Keep your hands in front of the clubhead, which allows you to get the ball airborne from a downward motion when you hit the ball. And, remember to go forward as much as you swung backward to keep the pendulum swing even.

5. Loosen your grip: By keeping a loose grip on the club during the entire swing, your hands will hinge and release the club properly adding speed to your swing. You should maintain a loose grip no matter if you’re using an overlap, interlock, or two-hand type of grip on your club.

6. The three body controls: All golfers realize that golf takes a lot of time and patience to play the game well and improve upon their skills. The three skills of synchronizing your timing, posture, and body alignment will become secondhand after much practice. Beginners should check how they’re standing, where they’re body is in relation to the ball, and focus on when the right time occurs to make contact with the ball.

In sum, learning to control your swing is managed by keeping your body aligned over the club, controlling your grip, and properly aligning the position of your club. This entire routine works toward the goal of improving your game exponentially making your time out on the greens much more enjoyable (and winnable too).
