The Kenmore appliance had its debut in 1913 when the Kenmore sewing machine became available at Sears, Roebuck & Co. Over the years the Kenmore brand has made a name for itself at Sears and remained a popular choice with consumers for home appliances.

Several years after the sewing machine appeared the next item to be introduced was a washing machine, which became available at Sears in 1927. Five years later Kenmore was selling vacuum cleaners and by the time 1933 rolled around Sears had taken the Kenmore name and officially registered it as their trademark. In that same year Kenmore introduced the Toperator washing machine, which was considered quite revolutionary for its time. The Toperator featured centralized wash, drain and wringer controls.

The Kenmore name was enjoying tremendous popularity and by 1936 Sears had sold over one million laundry appliances bearing the Kenmore logo. As customer needs changed so did the appliances. In 1947 Kenmore automatic agitator-type washing machines were introduced and ten years later the “Wash ‘N Wear†cycle Kenmore washers took center stage.

As technological advances changed the way Americans lived, Kenmore followed suit by adding modern appliances, such as microwave ovens, trash compactors and dishwashers. The brand name continued to gain popularity in the country and by 1995 it was estimated that sixty percent of American homes had at least one Kenmore product.

Today, you can purchase anything from air cleaners to grills bearing the Kenmore logo. Kenmore also offers a wide assortment of smaller kitchen type items, such as mixers, bread makers, roasters, food processors, coffee makers, deep fryers, toaster ovens, juicers, irons, griddles, slow cookers, toasters and vacuum sealer systems.

For instance, if you enjoy home cooked bread, you may want to try the Kenmore 2-Pound Rapid Bread-Maker. The bread maker offers 54 cycle combinations and a 59-minute super rapid bake cycle. Another innovative product is the Kenmore Ultra Seal-n-Save Vacuum Sealer System. This system helps to preserve food longer than traditional food storage methods. It also protects against freezer burn.

Of course, Kenmore is perhaps best known for their larger household appliances. Kenmore is famous for such household staples as dishwashers, ranges, refrigerators and washer/dryers. But you can also purchase Kenmore air cleaners, compactors, dehumidifiers, floor care products, freezers, garbage disposals, humidifiers, microwaves, room air conditioners, vacuums, water heaters and water treatment systems. And today the Kenmore name can still be found on the first product it produced - the sewing machine.

Although Kenmore offers a vast array of household appliances, if you are looking for something a little different, you may want to look at Kenmore Elite appliances. These sleek appliances had their debut in 1999 and are designed to appeal to style conscious consumers. The appliances come in a variety of styles and colors. Some of the models are also available in stainless steel, which has become a popular choice for appliances in the home.

One item available in the Elite line is the revolutionary HE3t Washer, which measures 3.7 cubic feet and offers the new Euro-style front-loading system. The washing machine has a sleek design and promises superior cleaning (utilizing thermal optimization to safely deep clean stains and soil).

Another item featured is the Kenmore Elite 30-inch Electronic Self-Clean Slide-In Range. The stove features a radiant smooth top surface and a self-leaning 3-element convection oven. The cook-top is fashioned out of ceramic glass.

In the refrigeration department, the Kenmore Elite line offers a variety of sizes and styles to choose from, including a 25.5 cubic foot side-by-side refrigerator. Also available is a 25 cubic foot refrigerator with a bottom freezer as well as a 21.6 cubic foot refrigerator featuring a top freezer. Depending on the style you choose, some features offered by these refrigerators include: grocery freshness, digital sensor chill temperature controls, shelves that adjust by the twist of a knob, sound-reduction, filtered ice and internal water dispensers.

Whatever product you choose you can rest assured because all Kenmore products are offered with the Sears Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back promise.
