Economical recipes for two popular store-bought items, Tartar Sauce and Thousand Island Dressing. Quick and easy to make.
TARTAR SAUCE
1 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
3 Tbsps finely chopped dill pickle
1 Tbsp chopped parsley
2 tsps chopped, pimiento
1 tsp grated onion
Combine all ingredients. Chill.
Makes 1 cup.
THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING
1 cup mayonnaise
3 Tbsps chili sauce
1 Tbsp chopped green pepper
1 tsp chopped pimiento
1 tsp chopped chives
Blend all ingredients thoroughly. Chill.
Makes 1-1/4 cups.
