Ventura has over 2,100 hotels and motel rooms from small B & Bs up very big hotels. Some of the larger properties include the Sheraton Four Points Hotel, Ventura Beach Marriott Hotel, and the Crown Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel.
And then we also have some of the basic midrange properties like Motel Six, Best Westerns.
Depending on the season, some of the larger corporate properties like Marriott or the Sheraton have packages and discounts in various locations. You can also contact our office at any point throughout the year for special rates or promotions.
There are also some regional guides that sometimes have coupons in them, especially for the mid-sized properties like Best Western or Motel Six. Those are available at any visitor's center.
Q: What is the busy time of the year and how far in advance should you book?
Our busiest month is August. For that time you would probably want to book three or four months in advance, that's because we are a beach town and August is prime beach weather.
The best weather continues well into October, but our highest occupancy is August.
Pierpont Inn is one of our oldest and most charming historic hotels. It's a craftsman or bungalow style property with a modern wing built later, but the predominant buildings are the historic buildings. It has fine dining, tennis, and swimming. They do a lot of weddings and small meetings there. They also have a big pavilion for meetings up to a couple of hundred.
They have a pretty high occupancy, so you would want to book a couple of months in advance at least and may be further for the July/August period.
The Bella Marjorie Inn is one of our bed-and-breakfasts. It is built in the European tradition, as its name would imply, so they feature smaller rooms, but it's built around a courtyard in an Italian style. Their dining room is in the open courtyard and you would swear you were on the coast of Italy. Each of the rooms is completely unique from one another and furnished in antiques. It is located right downtown and within walking distance of the beach. They have only 24 rooms, large on the B & B scale, but very small relative to other properties in town.
