We tell people who have drug problems to get a referral from their physician and to go to detox first, because hypnosis won't work if they are under the influence of their drug. Most of the people we see are chronic alcoholics or functioning alcoholics. They are able to go all day and may be drink in the evening. They drink to the point of being drunk and don't want to do it anymore. Those are the kind of people that we usually help. If somebody is a severe alcoholic, they probably need to get in-house treatment. Most people who are drinking are not drinking to get high. They are drinking to get balance. They go past it so quickly but think they need just one more drink. Before they know the drug has taken over again.
