A spa cover's function is to cover the spa in order to retain heat, which allows it to use less electricity. The cover also helps keep the water clean by shielding it from debris. Spa covers can be lifted and blown off the spa by high winds. If they are not well secured, they can also be opened by children or animals, creating a potential safety hazard. Ideal spa covers have Sure-Loc fasteners that keep the cover secure and prevent tampering. They can be locked with a key for added security to keep youngsters and others out of the tub. Ideal Spa Covers also meet the ASTM F1346-91 Standard for Manual Safety Covers, and they are also classified by (UL) Underwriters Laboratories.
