The reason I say that is because people will call me and say they saw a special, and what they don't realize is it's not the travel agency that designates the special in the price. All we are doing is passing along what a vendor gives us like what Fun Jet Vacations or American Air vacations gives us. That's all we can do and as travel agents, we get the same exact price with some exceptions. Cruise ships sell us better prices based on the volume that we book with them. Most hotels do not sell all inclusive packages. Every once in a while you get a hotel like Marriott; they have just come out with an inclusive package option add-on. But your best prices are going to be at the resort. The other reason to go to a travel agent to pick a resort is because travel agents know how to profile a client towards the right resort. If you are simply looking at the price online, you don't know anything about a resort. You may absolutely hate to be in a resort with 10 million kids; well there are certain times of the year you don't want to go and there are certain resorts you don't want to go to. The travel agent has had the education to know that. They have the contact with the vendors to know that.
A travel agent knows because I speak with a multitude of clients that travel to different resorts. I talk to my clients when they come back from the resort; "how was the food, how was the service?"
