Inform yourself on Niagara Falls, the honeymoon capital of the world. It is a city teeming with activities for all ages!
There truly is something for everyone at Niagara Falls, Canada. From the youngest child to the eldest adult, you will not run out of things to see and do. Let's start with the kids. There are many reasonably priced hotels in the area that offer the amenities you want for your children, including game rooms and pools. Every national chain is located within walking distance or a very short drive to the Falls themselves. A must is to take the kids to an area called Clifton Hill. There you will find wax museums galore, ranging from the classic to the ever-popular Movie Monster ones. There are a plethora of Fun Houses, and spook filled Dracula's Castle, etc.; more than enough to entertain the kids. There is also a Ripley's museum complete with a state of the art simulator ride sure to take your breath away. Along the way, there are plenty of restaurants, miniature golf courses, game arcades and quaint shops.
As for the Falls themselves, you have the choice of riding cable cars that take you deep into the gorge, helicopter rides that will give you a breathtaking view of the Falls, a walk through a cave that brings you almost within reach of the tumultuous water, and probably one of the best attractions, a boat ride called the Maid of the Mist. It sails you right to the base of the Falls, and you will go equipped with rain gear to protect you from the mist. It truly gives the most awe-inspiring view of the Falls possible.
Right along the Falls is a must attend simulator ride. It's called Ride Niagara, and young and old alike will enjoy this experience. As you sit in a theater enjoying a short history of the Falls, you're instructed to walk out and get in an "elevator" that will take you down to a "tunnel" at the base of the Falls. You view a holographic clip of an Indian Princess who keeps watch over travelers. At the base of the "elevator", doors open and you are in a cavern complete with shuttle cars. What follows is a great experience. This simulator has you tumbling into the rapids, captured by the current, and then suddenly, off you sail over the Falls themselves! You're then caught in the whirlpool but magically saved by the Princess. This is a must see for anyone visiting!
There are splendid gardens to tour while at the Falls, along with a Power Vista, an Aquarium and petting zoos. For the adults, Niagara Falls has a wonderful new casino with all the amenities of a casino in Las Vegas. All the above-mentioned attractions are within walking distance or a very short distance of generally less than five miles of each other. A short half hour drive from Niagara Falls is an area called Niagara on the Lake. Here you will find some of the best wineries around, all of which offer cozy tours and delicious wine tasting! For the golfers, there are at least four courses located within minutes. The Canadian side of the Falls is only a 45-minute drive from the Greater Buffalo International Airport, and the drive is very simple to navigate. It is impossible to see everything there is to see in a single day, and believe me; you'll want to take some time to really investigate it all. Glossing over the biggest and best adventure of all is the splendor of the Falls themselves. They are lit up each night in multi colored lights and many of the hotels offer a spectacular view right from your room. For the most part, you won't even need a car to see the majority of the activities mentioned. I can assure you, a trip to the Falls is one that someone of any age will enjoy and cherish for their lifetime.
