Insect control in your home: do you have pesky insects in your kitchen, in drawers, in cabinets, get rid of them, by proper cleaning and care they won't want to live there anymore.
The best way to deal with unwanted household pests is to avoid inviting them into your home. You don't have to issue an invitation and some will come in without being invited but don't make life easy for them, they don't need to live the good life in your home, that's for sure.
Start out by scrubbing all parts of the home where they might breed in places such as: water pipes, under sinks, toilets, behind kitchen drawers, on shelves, especially in the kitchen and the bathroom. These two rooms are the worst places in the house for drawing insects.
Remember to survive these pests have to have food, and if you leave food out for them you are providing a meal that will keep them coming for more and most are not choosy in regard to the meal that is served. Get rid of garbabage in the house, take it out nightly, clean those counter tops and don't leave bits of food on the stove, on the kitchen table or even on the floor.
Cover your food with lids in special containers. If you leave that greasy pot on the stove overnight because you just don't want to clean it you are therefore giving those pesky pests an invitation to a meal. These house guests are not choosy in what their meal consists of, that's for
sure.
Tack down pieces of wood or tin to close up places where pests can enter. Did you know that you can actually use modeling clay to seal openings and cracks around sinks, toilet bowls, water pipes, radiator pipes, and to fill in cracks around baseboard and between floor boards?
Steel wool will also work excellent when put in holes also. And also make sure your window screens are on tight and no holes to provide a nice door for them to enter.
Now preventive housekeeping will help lots but depending on the climate and the location of your home and also humidity, actually lots of factors determine the pests in your area, you may need extra outside help. There are many insecticides that can be used to treat them, and you can purchase these products in drugstores, hardware stores, etc. Be sure to check those labels and use a product that is good for the environment, won't harm pets or children and please keep these insecticides high up out of reach of those small children and also your pets. There are various types available, some you spray, some are a paste, some you mix with water, just determine the right one for your needs and purchase that item. If all else fails and now we get again to your area you might need to have the local pest control company come out and do a complete spraying of the home even monthly if necessary to keep away these unwanted house guests. You want them to leave and never return.
