Step 1
Find the home security system's connection to the telephone line. There are a number of ways to find where the security system connects to the home telephone line, but the most reliable may be to simply follow the telephone line from the security system's control panel to a nearby telephone jack. The line should plug into a wall jack using a standard modular plug.

Step 2
Unplug the modular plug from the wall and plug it into the female port of the DSL filter. The plug can be easily removed from the wall jack by depressing the small plastic clip and pulling gently from the jack. The telephone wire should not offer any resistance when being removed. Once it is removed, simply insert the plastic modular plug into the corresponding port on the DSL filter.

Step 3
Plug the DSL filter into the telephone jack. From the opposite end of the DSL filter, there should protrude a short telephone wire with a plastic modular plug identical to the one removed in step two above. Insert this plug into the telephone wall jack by inserting it with firm pressure. The DSL filter is now connected to the home security system and should allow for interference-free operation.
