All of our laminate that we manufacture is VersaLock, the floating floor.

This is what we call a floating floor because it has a vapor barrier underneath it and the floor is snapped together. You have to measure it of course, you have to shuffle your wood and make it look right because no piece of wood is exactly the same. With the tones and the variation in color it's not going to be a solid floor. So, you know the person has to note if they need 5-7 boxes of the wood, they need to take it out and lay it out on the floor, shuffle it around and do some preliminary work before they actually start to install it. The VersaLock floor can actually be taken apart and put back together. It involves no glue, so an average handyman could install their floor.

One thing to keep in mind about wood and laminates is the floor preparation of the subfloor. It needs to be very leveled. People get into problems all the time thinking, "Oh well! I'll just put the wood on top of it." There may be a little dent or rise in the floor and they think it won't show. It will and they get into big problems if the floor wasn't prepared first.
