Installing a Lexmark Z25 Printer

By Christopher Capelle

  • Overview

The Lexmark Z25 is an inexpensive color ink jet printer, which is often offered for a free with the purchase of a computer. Like many similar printers, it has two ink carts, a color and a black cart. The Z25 does not include a USB cable, and is compatible with not just Windows and Macintosh computers, but LINUX machines as well.
    Installing a Lexmark Z25 Printer
    • Step 1

Attach the A/C cable and power up the printer. Install the ink carts, and confirm that they're properly seated.
      Avoid third-party ink carts.
    • Step 2

Attach the USB cable to the printer, and the other end to the computer.
      USB cable not included.

    • Step 3

Install the software. Use the CD that came with the printer, or download the drivers from www.lexmark.com. Inserting the CD into Windows computers will launch the autorun wizard, and inserting it into a Mac will mount the CD on the desktop. Mac users should then follow the prompts to complete the install.
      The drivers come on CD.
    • Step 4

Restart the computer when the software finishes installing. After restart, confirm that the printer is properly installed by printing a test sheet.
