We are located at the geographical center of America. We are very well known for our jazz and our barbecue. You can see that passion in the residents who live here, and I think it extends to the visitors who come here as well. We have a population of around 1.9 million in the metropolitan area with a large Hispanic and African-American population.

One of the first things people notice when they come to the city is our mid-western hospitality. They are automatically greeted with a smile with the hello. People are usually amazed by how friendly everyone is here. You will definitely feel welcome, and after a few days you feel at home. It's just a delight to be in the heart of America. Our airport was recently renovated making it one of the most user-friendly airports in the nation. There are three hubs. We don't currently have an airline with a home base here, so we are able to keep our airfares very low especially for a family. We have more fountains than any other city with the exception of Rome and Paris. For information on our fountains, check out the website at www.kcfountains.org. The Kansas City Star newspaper has a great weekend section to tell you all about the events that are going on. Our alternative magazine called The Pitch goes more in depth on the music scene.
