Sizing tips and suggestions on thermal gear available for your youth archer
With thermal gear available in boots, socks, underwear, shirts, jackets, gloves and hats, you can outfit your child in gear that will keep them warm from the first minute in a stand, to the last hours later.
Before you begin shopping, consider what your child will need, may already have, and sizes needed for individual items. Remember that, as with any type of cold weather gear, layering is the best way to tackle the cold. It is tempting to buy sizes larger than needed, with the thought in mind that the child will get several years of wear out of the clothing if initially purchased too big. The problem with ill-fitting thermal gear is that it loses much of its purpose. Aim for clothing that is comfortable. Do not buy too small or too large. Thermal gear should be properly sized to work as intended. You can always pass the gear down to a younger sibling or a hunting buddy's child.
Some items to consider when purchasing youth thermal gear to keep them warm in the stand includes:
Socks
Start with a good pair of thermal socks. Cabelas offers a Buck Jr. youth thermal tube sock, perfectly sized in length to wear inside a pair of hunting boots.
