We have an all-purpose hard surface cleaner. There is not a lot of maintenance on wood and virtually none on the laminate. The color of wood is affected by sunlight and by your lighting in your room. It will lighten or darken depending on the species of wood that you have on your floor. So you can put a rug down on your floor and three months later you decided to remove that rug and it has made their floor lighter in one spot. It is a natural tendency of wood. If you took the rug off and you waited for another three months, the floor would even out. The color would go back to the normal color. If you have to maintain it you can use some vacuum cleaners to get up the dust, but basically one of those Swiffer dusters works well. You can use a barely dampened mop to go over it. If you have any tough spots, you can take the sponge with some all-purpose cleaner and try to get the spots off. With hardwood floors one of the worst things you can do is get grit or sand or anything on your feet like that because it will scratch hardwood floor. Ceramic floors you can just vacuum and mop.
