Well, many paint removers work on both latex and oil-based paints. Some removers are biodegradable. There are some paint removers that are made of orange peelings. They are safe to use, and they also have a pleasant odor. They tend to be a little more expensive, but there are paint removers out there that are organic.

I always try to use organic based products for environmental reasons. They are not as dangerous. They are biodegradable and they clean up with soap and water, as opposed to the other ones. With other types of removers, you might have to use some special mineral spirits or something else to clean it.

I like to use a Pace remover, because it stays on the surface longer as opposed to the more liquid-types that will run on you. Some can be really thin. They work on flat surfaces better than on perpendicular type surfaces.
