Storage depends on whether you have made something as a garment or whether it would be suitable for framing. I frame a lot of my lace. It should always be stored flat or rolled, and should be stored in acid free tissue paper in an acid free box. If the article is too big, put it in acid free tissue paper and roll it up onto a wall. Never store it after applying starch. Starch is food for bugs, and that applies to all textiles. Acid free materials are necessary, because every material tends to turn acidic as it gets older. For example, old newspapers tend to turn brown and break down. That's the acidifying process. Eventually all paper will do that, so even when using acid free paper, you should change out the paper every three years to avoid having your garments turn yellow.
