Don't quit your day job unless you have something else lined up. Again, I am learning from my own mistakes. My advice really is to take things slow, steady and simple. If you just take consistent steps toward what you want, you'll get there. I am not one of those coaches that says "the only way you can be successful is if you jump out of the airplane and hope that your parachute opens." For example, if you have somebody who wanted to start a new business and they had a job, I would advise them to keep their job. Keep your job and even if you can only find time to make one phone call a day for your business, don't quit your job until your business income is replacing that. Or if you've simplified your life enough that you don't need that second income. Some people just throw caution to the wind and throw themselves off the bridge. It's not necessary because in the beginning stages of a new business, it's not that important because you don't have anybody to serve yet. It is just like planting seeds. Start telling people of your intentions. Put your feelings out there, and let people know what you want to do. But my advice to anybody making a career shift, slow, steady and as simple as possible. Simplify your life first because if you can get your expenses down, then you have more choices. And then from there just gradually start building until you actually see a point that you can afford to jump off.
