Great Wedding Sites in Kansas City by Anna Kate Lewis
Are you planning a wedding in Kansas City, Missouri? If so, there are many beautiful and exciting wedding sites from which to choose. Think about the following things when deciding on a wedding site:
1. Budget—Is the wedding/reception site within your budget? You don’t want to break the bank by choosing a site that is too expensive. Consider whether the location will stand on its own or whether it will need to be decorated with flowers, candles, etc., as these items will affect your budget as well. Also, be sure to ask whether tables, linens, and chairs are included or if you will have to rent them. Sometimes it’s also easier to have an on-site caterer, but you may wish to choose your own. Another item to consider when evaluating your budget is the day of the wedding/reception. Friday and Sunday dates are always less expensive than Saturday dates.
2. Style—Does the wedding/reception site reflect your personal and wedding style? A traditionalist might not want to have her wedding in a barn, but someone who grew up on a farm might! Do you get a good feeling when you visit or see pictures online? Is the staff willing to work with you to get the exact feel that you want?
3. Location—Location is extremely important to consider, especially if your wedding will be in a church and the reception will be at an alternate location. Out-of-town guests will have a hard time navigating a 20-minute commute from the church to the reception area, and you will need to print up directions and maps. However, if you love both sites, this may be worth the trouble. If the wedding and reception will be in the same place, is it easily accessible? Are there handicapped entrances for older relatives who may be in wheelchairs? Will everyone need to move to a different area for the reception? You may want to print this information on your programs.
Considering the above items, begin to get an idea about the kind of place you want for your wedding/reception site. Kansas City has many great places to offer, within all budgets and for many different styles. Below is a list with details about five of the best sites:
