Capricorn, an Earth sign, and Pisces, a Water sign, have a natural affinity for each otherâs company. Letâs take a closer look at this pairing.
Capricorn male and Pisces female:
He may be the stereotypical âstrong, silent typeâ of her mistier and more fairy-tale type dreams. A Capricorn, because of that Earth element mentioned above, always has his feet on the ground. Heâs practical, steadfast, stolid and hard-working. He might be her neighborhood banker or real estate broker, or he may deal in stocks and bonds. Whatever he does for a living, itâs a career; one for which heâs well-trained, having invested years of college. The phrase âself-made manâ is one of the highest accolades you can give him.
Sheâs a little like a heroine in a romance novel â of which she probably reads far too many â and can easily imagine herself trapped in a tower by a wicked dragon (or landlord) and needing to be rescued. In fact, âbeing rescued by a knight in shining armorâ is likely her favorite daydream. A Pisces woman doesnât usually have or really want a full-fledged, all-consuming career. Sheâs content to have enough money to feed herself and her pets, haphazardly house all of them, and be able to pursue her real vocation: painting, writing poetry, creating delicate, charming jewelry, or all of the above. She doesnât handle money well, and her checkbook may be a lost cause.
He shudders at the very idea of throwing money away foolishly. This is the man who started working at age five, with his lemonade stand on the corner, the one which all the joggers passed at their half-way mark on their runs. He can be very tight with a buck. There are cases of Capricorn men who denied themselves and their families even the necessities of life, just to watch that savings account grow larger every month. Sheâll have to figure out a way to show him how to take a few dollars and have a great time spending them on a date they both enjoy.
She may be more adaptable than he realizes, too, since she has her own style and way of dressing, which may include not only making her own clothes, but re-creating ones she finds at thrift stores and yard sales. While he would die of embarrassment if anyone saw her shopping at such places once theyâre an established couple, heâll appreciate how far she can stretch her clothing budget. And heâd better appreciate her off-beat way of dressing, too, because she wonât change that for anyone â itâs part of her self-expression.
When they get into an argument, she tells him he has no imagination, doesnât understand her, and places his career above her in his schedule and his heart. He may have a hard time countering all but the very last statement â he does place her first in his heart. He just has a tremendous need for his career to take first place in time and outward devotion.
For these two people to have a relationship is relatively easy. Itâs the long-term commitment that may be the sticking point. He may grow tired of always having to be the grown-up in the relationship: paying the bills, finding the right apartment or house, making sure all of her pets have their shots and so on. She may grow a little resentful at him finally becoming more like her father, instead of that swashbuckling sea captain she thought she married. But their Sun Signs are sextile to each other, indicating inner compatibility, and if she can remember to pay the light bill each month, and he can become a little less stuffy, they can likely be very happy together for a very long time.
Now letâs look at a Capricorn woman and a Pisces man. In our current culture, itâs most likely a woman is middle-aged before sheâs really established herself on the career ladder and monetarily able to support another person or perhaps a family. There may be enough of an age difference between these two for all the neighborhood gossips to keep the rumors flying 24/7. If she really loves him, though, itâs one of the things sheâs going to have to get used to â because most Pisces men are dreamily unable to make a living for themselves, let alone anyone else.
A Pisces man would be very happy being the favored composer at an eighteenth-century court, for example, or the Royal Consort to a queen. He could then pursue his music, or poetry, or work at keeping his dashing appearance, without having to suffer the horrible indignities of a daily job. Most Pisces men work only enough to supply the barest of necessities, and few of them have any interest in a stellar career. You wonât find many of them fighting their way to the top of the corporate food chain.
Sheâs probably an elegant, classic dresser, who buys a few very good suits each year and adds perhaps one or two good silk blouses. Her âplay clothesâ are tropical weight wool and linen or crisp cotton. She takes good care of her expensive clothing. Her closet is likely one of those organizerâs dreams, with a place for certain items which are carefully returned to that place after cleaning. She also exercises and eats a balanced diet. He, on the other hand, may resemble a suit salesmanâs worst nightmare. If he wears plaid, it may be with stripes and dots, or at the very least sporting a multitude of wrinkles. He probably canât find a tie, let alone one without stains on it, and for him to âdress upâ means he leaves his flip-flops in the car.
The Capricorn woman enjoys a challenge, however, and turning her âdiamond in the roughâ into the polished, sophisticated mate she needs occasionally for her career progression might be her favorite project. Their love-making likely wonât be the fierce cave-man style some men seem to favor â but many women donât enjoy that type either.
On the whole, this can be a good match, with a lot of staying power: as long as she can avoid turning into a copy of his mother, and he can grow up a little, and not demand she do all the work of keeping their relationship alive.
