Health tips for males in their thirties

If you a male in your thirties, learn what steps you should take live a happier, healthier lifestyle by reading this informative article!

On the average, a man's life expectancy is seventy two years old. This means, that by the time a male hits his thirties, biologically, he is halfway through his life. This is even more reason for a man to take stock of his health and to work on making his lifestyle healthier at this time in his life.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), heart disease, cancer, lung disease, diabetes and liver disease are among the top ten causes of death for American men. (With heart disease being the leading cause.) In order to avoid these illnesses, as well as other potentially fatal health conditions, the first thing that a man in his thirties should look at is his diet. Diets that are low in vitamins and minerals and high in fat, sugar, and calories can lead to health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.

Instead of filling up on processed foods that aren't healthy, a male should make it a point to eat plenty of protein- including lean meat two or three times a week- fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.

Alcohol should also be limited to no more than one to two drinks a day. And, if a man smokes cigarettes or cigars, he should kick the habit too! Tobacco use has been linked to various types of cancer and heart and lung diseases.

Besides eating properly, a male in his thirties should also be involved in a regular exercise regime. This can include jogging, running, lifting weights, aerobic exercises, and many other healthy activities.

Regular exercise can raise a man's metabolism and burn calories, boost his immunity system, tone and strengthen his muscles, including the most important muscle, the heart. Being active is also an important part in helping to reduce stress.

Visiting his doctor or his healthcare professional, especially after hitting the age of thirty years old, is another aspect of a man's healthy life. Why? Because, even though there are no pains or other symptoms doesn't mean that a man is necessarily healthy. And, the earlier that a health condition is found, the better chance a doctor has to treat it successfully.

Medical experts advise men who are this age to have a complete physical examination every two years. There are simple blood tests that can detect diabetes, cancers, and cholesterol problems.

While he's performing a physical examination, a doctor or healthcare professional can also check a male for testicular cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, (ACS), testicular cancer is most commonly found in young men who are teenagers up to adult men about thirty five years of age. This type of cancer spreads at a quick rate of speed. Therefore, finding it in its earliest stages can literally mean the difference between life and death.

In between check ups, males can check themselves for signs of testicular cancer too. This is best done while taking a shower or a bath when the testicles are relaxed and more flexible. A male should use his fingers to gently feel his testicles for lumps, bumps, swelling, soreness, and other unusual symptoms. If he finds any strange signs, he should contact his doctor or healthcare professional immediately to make an appointment for an exam.

In addition, a male in his thirties should have his eyes examined by a qualified professional every two years. He should also have a dental exam every year; and an electrocardiogram is he has a family history of heart attacks.
