It has been said that there are two types of personalities, and that each person fits into one of the two personality types. The two types of personalities are known as Type A Personality and Type B Personality. There are different attributes that are known to be associated with each personality type, and we will be looking at the attributes of the Type A Personality.

Though psychologists and other doctors have been studying this personality type for a very long time, it is hard to come to very precise conclusions. The actual thought of what a Type A Personality is remains quite vague. There have been signs of this personality type that has been agreed upon by all the researchers. The two main attributes of a Type A Personality are time impatience and ever-present hostility.

The first attribute of this personality type is known as time impatience. Time impatience can be seen through many different actions that happen each day. Characteristics of time impatience can include eating fast, looking at the newspaper or the T.V. while eating, examining mail while on talking on the telephone, and rushing to get things done. Others also see time impatience around the person who has the Type A Personality. People around them many tell them to slow down or to take it easy. People who have a Type A Personality are known to be tense at most times due to time impatience, and it may bother these people to stand in line and they may think other things while they are talking to friends or family.

The second attribute of a Type A Personality is that of ever-present hostility. This hostility can be seen in private or by others around the person with the Type A Personality. Ever-present hostility can be seen if it is hard for the person to fall asleep or stay asleep because they are upset, and if they believe that most people are not honest. Usually the person with a Type A Personality get irritated while driving and may swear at other drivers on the road. They may also feel like their partner is overly critical and is constantly competing with them on all levels. This ever-present hostility can also be noticed by the dentist who may point out that the person grinds their teeth.

Though these are the main two characteristics of a Type A Personality, there are certain psychological signs and physical signs to know if you or someone else has this personality type. The psychological signs can be the presence of impatience or easily induced hostility. These are the two signs that are most easy to recognize in most people. Some of the physical signs of someone who has a Type A Personality may include teeth grinding, excessive perspiration of the forehead or upper lip, indentation of the tongue due to chronic pressure against the teeth, and a brown coloring of the skin beneath the lower eyelid.

There are many people who have Type A Personalities, and it is good to know if you are one of those people. Type A Personalities are known to be associated with heart disease. If you have a Type A Personality, you can reduce your risk of heart disease by seeing your doctor about ways to change certain aspects that cause the most damage. There is nothing wrong with a Type A Personality, but it is always important to be aware of one’s own health.
