Wedding party favors: unique ideas for unique couples

Give your wedding guests a unique wedding party favor when they leave the reception. Here are some unique ideas for unique couples with special interests; the favors can be used as table decorations or centerpieces too!

When a couple has decided to tie the knot, planning of the actual marriage ceremony begins immediately. Usually the first decision is what day the big event will take place. After that has been decided, it’s onto choosing the pastor, the wedding party, the wedding décor, the wedding music and the wedding guest list. When the big day finally arrives, many couples want to share something special with their wedding guests. The couple wants to make sure that their wedding guests know that they appreciate them for being there on the most important day of their new life together. Wedding party favors for the guests are a great way for the couple to say ‘thank you’ to their wedding guests.

When a couple is choosing wedding party favors, they can be overwhelmed at the many items available. Each couple needs to remember that this is THEIR wedding, and the wedding party favors they choose should reflect something about their unique personalities. Wedding party favors could also be items which will remind the wedding guests of when or where the couple actually met. For instance, if they met at the movies wedding favors could be as simple as a package of microwave popcorn with a ribbon tied around it. A card with a special note about how the couple ‘popped’ into each other’s life at the movies would make a cute addition.

It’s fairly easy for couples to find great wedding party favor ideas because of the time of year their wedding may be held. In the month of January, small snow globes could be placed on the reception tables as wedding favors. In February, heart-shaped boxes of chocolates would make delicious wedding favors. Shamrock pins for the month of March would be fun for the wedding guests to wear. In April, mini umbrellas could be used for wedding favors; and in May miniature flower pots with real flowers could be given to the wedding guests. In the months of June, July and August, wedding favors could be a variety of summer items including beach towels or small flags. Mini wreaths with autumn colors would be great for September, October and November. Wedding favors for the month of December could include candy, candles and Christmas ornaments.

A themed wedding party favor can also be a great idea for a couple to use. If the couple loves sports, they could use small footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, and golf balls as their wedding party favors. In fact, many companies offer personalization of golf balls or other items with the couples name and/or wedding date. If a couple decides to use a sports theme, they might like to purchase miniature trophies as wedding party favors in addition to the miniature sports balls. Another great idea for a wedding favor (depending on the budget of course) is to purchase tickets to a sporting event for all the wedding guests.

For couples who are coffee lovers, sharing their favorite flavor of coffee would be a wonderful wedding favor. Place individual packets of coffee and attach a note about how the guests have flavored the wedding couple on their special day. Coffee mugs are a great idea as a wedding favor too. The wedding guests are sure to smile when they drink their morning cup of coffee and remember the wedding couple.

Wine lovers can give a great wedding favor without having to splurge for an entire bottle of wine for every wedding guest. Simply purchase some beautiful wine charms. They will make a beautiful addition to a reception table decoration and the guests will enjoy such a sweet gift.

Professional couples might choose more practical types of wedding party favors that their wedding guests can use in everyday life. Whether or not they are personalized, pen and pencil sets can be much appreciated gifts. Writers might pen a poem and give each wedding guest a copy.

Does the wedding couple enjoy getting away and relaxing? The weddings guests probably do, too. A small bar of scented soap, some bath salts with a special scoop, and a candle can be wrapped beautifully in netting and tied with ribbon to make a soothing wedding party favor.

Perhaps the wedding couple loves photography. They can take advantage of this fact and share some of their photographs for the wedding guests to take home. Various photographs the couple has taken could be air brushed onto edible cookies as a yummy treat for their wedding guests.

Some couples love games and love to play cards. A personalized deck of cards with the wedding couple’s picture on it is a great and fun wedding party favor to consider. If desired, the couple could share game bags with their guests. A deck of cards, dice, and a book of game rules could be the contents.

A basket filled with microwave popcorn, chocolate candy and movie tickets would also be a fun and unique wedding favor gift. The wedding couple may wish to place a gift certificate for a movie rental in this type of basket.

The wedding couple could always choose more traditional wedding party favors which include birdseed and bubbles. If the couple decides on these wedding favors, make them extra special by adding netting and a personal note for your wedding guests.

The presentation of the wedding favors can vary. Place a huge basket with a beautiful ribbon on top by the door so that your wedding guests may take the wedding favor with them as they leave. Place the wedding favors on the reception tables as part of the wedding reception decorations. Invite your wedding guests to take the favors home as they leave the reception. Choose someone to help pass out the wedding favors to make sure each guest receives one.

Simple, practical, elegant, or even funny and wacky wedding party favors can be found if the couple takes the time to search them out. Because you’re a unique couple, you’re sure to come up with unique ideas for your wedding day. Your wedding guests will appreciate that you’ve taken the time to remember them on the most important day of your life!
