Do it yourself weddings: 5 fall wedding favor craft ideas

Here are some ideas that I have come up with for some great wedding favors for a fall wedding. They are inexpensive and easy to make for anyone.

Planning a wedding can be time consuming and extremely expensive; just getting the dress and flowers can tap you out of funds. When it comes to the favors some will try to just get buy and some will just not include them in their budget at all. While I was planning my wedding I started looking for favors and my friends and I came up and found some great ideas that we used. We even saved some ideas for future weddings. These ideas are wonderful favors for a fall wedding theme.

1. Cards at place setting with copy of vows inside.

We got some construction paper in beautiful fall colors, cut them in half with some pinking scissors and trimmed all of the edges so that they all matched. We went out and gathered some beautiful leaves (these were going to be used for other things as well). I could have bought the leaves but I thought that the real ones would make better art. I then took several of the leaves and set them aside to use a templates for cards. I place a leaf on the front of a card and with some gold paint I lightly painted over the leaf and it left the shape on the front of the card. Inside the shape I put the names of the bride and groom and then the date of the wedding. On the inside of the card we printed a copy of the vows from the wedding. This works especially well if the couple write their own vows. This is great if you know some one that has especially nice handwriting or if you can print these up on your computer.

2. Sweet treats for your guests.

This favor is great for a wedding anytime of the year but can be decorated for fall. Get several yards of tulle. You are going to cut this into squares that are approx 6 inches by 6 inches. In the center put a silk leaf in any fall color and then on the top of the leaf put a couple of kisses. I like the ones in the gold wrappers. Gather the tulle and make a pouch. Tie the top of the pouch with some gold ribbon and attach a little tag with the couple’s names and the date.

3. Another Sweet Treat.

You can take your favorite candy bar and put your own wrapper on it. Make the wrappers out of paper that have fall colors. Or you can have leaves and fall items printed on the wrappers. You need to measure the candy bar to see how large you need to make your wrapper and then put the couple’s name and the wedding date on the paper so that when it is wrapped around the candy bar it will show on the front. If the wrapper is plain put a fall theme or fall clipart on the wrapper to get into the fall theme.

4. A simple rose:

Take one simple artificial rose and put a beautiful fall colored ribbon around it. To the ribbon attach a little tag with the name of the bride and groom and the wedding date. This is an inexpensive and yet pretty reminder of your special day.

5. Beautiful organza:

Get some beautifully fall colored organza bags and put bird seed in them. To the pull string you can attach a small tag with the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date. The seed can be tossed at the end of the wedding or it can be saved as a souvenir of the occasion. These organza bags can also be filled with lavender to be kept as a sachet.
