What is Lipovox?

By Dana George

  • Overview

If you're an avid viewer of Oprah, you've most likely seen the episode of the 10 "Super Foods" that will help you look 10 years younger. Well, this particular installment was the impetus for Lipovox. But, this product didn't just help people look younger. It supposedly helped them drop weight, which is now what the product is predominantly being sold as.
  • Identification

Lipovox is essentially a weight loss supplement that also purportedly improves the condition of your skin. This is done through a proprietary blend of vitamins and extracts considered "Super Foods," which basically means those foods touted as the most beneficial to your health and wellness. While the foods do have some fairly positive effects on the body, the blend used by the makers are private, so actual analysis of the efficacy is virtually impossible. No one really knows if there is enough of each to make any difference.
  • Ingredients

Most of the ingredients are botanical in nature, including the extracts of Brazilian acai, cayenne pepper, garlic, soybean, barley, wheatgrass, alfalfa, flaxseed, buckwheat and lactobacillus acidophilus. Each of these products is either considered an antioxidant or a fiber, with the exception lactobacillus acidophilus which is healthy bacteria that promotes optimal health and resilience to disease. In certain quantities, these foods do have some health benefits, but not necessarily any affect on a person's weight. And, any proof that the product itself can help a person drop both pounds and fat is really just anecdotal.

  • Other Ingredients

Lipovox also contains both green tea extract and salmon oil powder. Green tea extract has been said to lower cholesterol, prevent cancer and even act as an anti-inflammatory. Salmon oil powder also is said to lower cholesterol as well as aid in brain function. But, does either of these substances actually help a person look younger and lose weight? Again, the results are pretty much subjective at best.
  • Efficacy

Most people who have tried Lipovox have claimed that it doesn't work, and some have even complained that it slowed their weight loss progress to almost none. This can be some troubling information to those people currently using the product. The most effective method of losing weight will always be diet and exercise. If you're looking for a "quick fix" to drop pounds, there's really no such thing. And, most of them that claim to be will usually require you to reduce your caloric intake and implement exercise to see beneficial results, even Lipovox asks you to do this.
  • Considerations

Another issue that revolves around Lipovox is the amount of product you'll need to take. Certain individuals will need to take more of the tablets than others, making a bottle last as little as 10 days. That means you'll need to use three bottles a month to get results, translating to a cost of over $60.00 for 30 days.
