Newport has everything from very small, quaint six-unit motels to 200-room hotels; there is an excellent variety. They're all quality with an excellent variety of amenities and price ranges and some have restaurants. There are also a number of excellent bed-and-breakfasts and vacation rentals that are popular in the community. The information about bed-and-breakfasts and vacation rentals is also on our website.

One of the most popular places to stay in Newport is on the oceanfront, but we also have a number of hotels along Highway 101 which is the main north/south route through Oregon, but it's also our Main Street. Many of the hotels along the highway are very, very nice; they are a little more economical just because they don't have the oceanfront beach views. And then we have a variety of other motel and hotel properties along the Equina Bay, which is also a very popular area for visitors.

As far as discounts and a slower tourist season, wintertime is always a good time to come. Winter rates tend to be less than the summer rates and many times they offer seasonal packages in conjunction with some of our attractions like the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Almost anytime of the year is a great time to come.

The other thing that is very popular is camping and we have two state parks, one is just of north of Newport and one is just south of Newport and both have about 250 camp spaces and RV hookups. Both of those parks are essentially right on the Pacific Ocean. South Beach State Park is really nothing but a large sandune that separates the campers from the beach and Beverly Beach State Park is the one north of us. The coastal parks are really a gem of Oregon and we're fortunate to have two of the nicest ones right in our backyard.

So, between the variety of hotels, RV parks, state parks, bed-and-breakfasts, beach cabins, and other vacation rentals I think it's pretty easy for anyone to find what they're looking for.
