Louisiana is not just one of those states you would just like to visit, but not want to live there. Louisiana is full of fine food and hospitable people and a rich heritage. Chances are, you may never want to leave.

The state is nicknamed the Sportman's Paradise, and it doesn't take you long to figure out why. Louisiana is a lush green paradise. There are so many outdoor activities available, such as boating, fishing, hunting in game rich river basins, swamp tours, sight seeing in coastal marsh lands, hiking and golfing, just to name a few. Beautiful swamps filled with cypress trees, pelicans, alligators, and also huge moss covered oak trees, and antebellum homes lining the brown bayous, are just a taste of what your eyes will behold. You will feel like you have stepped back into the Civil War days. Elegance, grace and hospitality, with a dash of down home simplicity is what you will experience.

Louisiana has a rich heritage and unique cultures. Our European, African, Hispanic and Native American roots go back a long way. Cajuns sprang from the Acadians who came from Acadia and Nova Scotia. French language is spoken by most Cajuns, in a unique Cajun style French. But you can always bet they are saying "Welcome, friend, come pass a good time with us."

Charming people, humble, funny and loving, world famous quisine, dancing, music, beautiful wildlife, rich heritage, casinos, festivals, and celebrations are all synonymous with Louisiana. New Orleans is the largest city in Louisiana. Downtown is quaint, with narrow streets and iron-tatted balconies, in March, overfilled with people celebrating Mardi Gras, throwing beads. Louisiana is home of Tabasco, which is perfect because we love it hot! We Louisianians love to party! You will find festivals in every part of the state. We are most famous for our world famous Cajun Cuisine: Spicy Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee, Jambalaya, Boudin, Cracklins, and boiled crawfish, of course, just to name a few delicacies.

Come to our paradise. See the alligators, the swamps, the majestic Antebellum homes, dance down Bourbon Street, gamble at the finest casinos around, sample our world famous food, take a ride on the riverboats down the Mississippi River. You may never want to leave!
