Step 1
Check to make sure your microphone and speakers are working before you set up the conference call. Many computers have microphones built into them, but you (and the people listening to you) might experience higher audio quality if you use a headset. You can check your audio devices in Yahoo! Messenger by going to the "Messenger" menu, selecting "Preferences," and then "Calling & Devices." Also, set up a webcam if you and your contacts would like to see each other during the conference call.

Sign into Yahoo! Messenger. Once your contacts are signed on, click on the "Actions" menu and choose the "Invite to Conference..." option.

Add your contacts to the "Invitation List" by selecting their names from the "Friends" box on the right and clicking the "Add" button. Use the "Invite Other" button to add contacts who aren't on your Messenger List. You can also write an optional message to send to your invitees. When you finish adding contacts, click the "Invite" button.

Click "Join", and you and your contacts should be able to hear each other speak. Click the "Webcam" button to allow others to see you.

Select "Conference" and then "Invite More People" to allow others to join the conference call. All should go smoothly. If there are audio problems at any point, you and your contacts can communicate by typing in the chat box.
