Rather than buying a special soap for your sensitive skin, you can easily make your own and use the ingredients you choose!
Making soap is a long time art form that began hundreds of years ago. Today, many people make soap for either their own use, or to sell on the market to others. Generally, soap is made in bars, but it can also be made into liquid soap so it can be used in a dispenser.
A real easy way to make your own liquid soap for sensitive skin is to liquefy bars of soap. The soap, of course, will need to be designed for use on sensitive skin. This should be a cleanser that contains no alkaline. Ideally, it will be free from artificial fragrances, and it should contain only gentle ingredients. It should also rinse clean and not leave an irritating film.
Instead of using new bars of soap, you can also save up scraps of bars and dabs of liquid soap that are leftovers. Place the leftovers in a heat resistant bowl or other suitable container as you get them. You can use an old canning jar with a lid, for example. Then, when the container is half full, add a cup or so of boiling water to it. Let the mixture sit undisturbed in the container overnight.
Check the soap and water the next day with an old spoon. The soap should be softened and rather gooey. If it's not, then add a little more boiling water and let it set longer. Finally, when it's gooey, it's ready to blend. You'll need to blend it well until the two ingredients are thoroughly blended together. You can either place it in a blender or use an electric kitchen mixer to do this. You can use a large spoon to hand mix it, but it will take a lot of arm work to do it manually.
If the mixture is stiff, then you'll need to add a little more hot water to it until it gets to be the right consistency. Or, you can add a little glycerin, olive oil, or coconut oil to it. The glycerin and the oils are all good for sensitive skin, so don't worry about the addition changing the mixture.
Finally, when the soap and water gets to be a rather thin, pourable consistency, it's ready to use. Pour it into your favorite liquid soap dispenser and use it on your sensitive skin. You can, of course, either use it at the sink, or you can keep it in the shower for bathing.
There is a second easy method you can use to make your own liquid soap too. Hold a kitchen grater over a heat resistant bowl and rub a full bar of sensitive skin soap over it. Be careful not to rub your fingers across the grater! Keep grating the soap until it's turned into flakes. Measure out one cup of the flakes; pack them down as you measure them.
Then, add three cups of boiling water to the soap flakes. Stir the mixture quickly with an old large spoon until the soap is completely melted and is gooey. Allow the mixture to cool, then add several drops of your favorite oils, stirring after each addition. You can use olive oil, coconut oil,
palm oil, avocado oil, or glycerin.
Finally, pour the liquid soap into your favorite dispenser and use it on your sensitive skin. You may have to shake the dispenser from time to time in order to keep the ingredients mixed well.
