We are hearing about male anorexia more now. Anorexia and bulimia affect 10 million females; that goes down to (and it is probably way under reported) to maybe one million males. What's interesting is they are finding that it affects high school aged young men that are in sports and have to be a certain weight for wrestling or other sports. They are given laxatives and diuretics so men are learning how to purge and the media aspect is really starting to target men also. Then of course it is a way that they are trying to handle their emotional pain, too. There are less options for men to get treatment, but they the treatment would be the same as women.
